About 2 Faraway Fields

2 Faraway Fields is a beautifully appointed cedar-clad lodge sitting quietly within the Cornish countryside, within easy reach of the harbour towns of Looe, Polperro and Fowey to the south and the rugged landscapes of Bodmin Moor just inland. Designed for couples and small families seeking privacy, seclusion and a genuine sense of escape, this single-storey retreat offers spacious, characterful interiors and a natural setting that encourages you to slow down from the moment you arrive.

Arriving at the lodge, there is an immediate sense of calm, windswept wildflowers, the soft movement of trees and a gentle stillness that settles around you and stays. The lodge sits privately within its surroundings, with gentle trails leading directly from the front door and a friendly onsite team on hand during your stay.

Step inside and the lodge reveals itself as a bright and characterful space. A skylight above the kitchen and multiple sets of patio doors flood the interior with natural light, while elevated views across the countryside give the living area a feeling of real openness.

A characterful beam overhead adds warmth and substance, and two leather sofas sit facing the view, a natural place to watch the light shift across the landscape whilst flicking on the TV for a film. The kitchen is well-appointed with wooden countertops and contemporary white fixtures, and everything needed for relaxed meals at the breakfast bar or around the dining table.

The master bedroom offers a king-size bed dressed in hotel-quality linens, its own en-suite shower room and patio doors opening directly onto the decking, while the twin room is suited to younger guests and served by a family bathroom finished with fluffy towels and thoughtful toiletries. Outside, a spacious lawn gives way to a generous decking area where the hot tub comes into its own, whatever the time of yea, warm water and open sky, with sunsets that linger and stars that appear with a clarity that feels quite special.

2 Faraway Fields Reviews

Andrea
Really enjoyed our stay at 2 faraway fields. The lodge is in a lovely quiet spot. Very clean and comfortable. We watched birds and rabbits from the window. Great size decking with 2 sitting areas and a good size sunken hot tub. Great to have 1 good size shower room and 1 good size bathroom. We spent 4 nights here and wished we stayed longer. We would definately recommend this lodge, it is a lovely lodge on a lovely site.
Andrew
Another great stay with Charteroak. Lovely lodge and in a great location to visit the best of North Cornwall. Looking forward to returning.
Michelle
The lodge had everything we needed, it could do with a few touch ups which you would expect towards the end of the season. I would have appreciated some instructions for the hot tub, as it was a little sensitive with the touch pad operation and did not always seem to respond. but it was dark in the evening, which did not help us. overall it was a perfect location, and the only slight grumble would be the pot holes in the driveways. we would however definitely book again.
Comfortable with good quality furniture and comfortable bed. Didnt use hot tub as weather was very wet and windy. Park is well maintained. A tree by us may need cutting back a bit as branch hits roof when it is windy.
Had a great time, very clean and situated in a great spot with a good views. Very relaxing setting and not overlooked by other lodges
Thank you. It sums it up in two words. We needed a relaxing environment for our 2 grand daughters as they were both recently diagnosed with epilepsy, also a safe environment for them. The lodge and site provided this with ease. The lodge was beautiful and so well equipped, and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. The views, the peace, the rabbits and moorhens all fantastic. The staff were informative when needed. The site was immaculate, not a blade of grass out of place. Again thank you x

Absolutely loved our stay at 2 faraway fields! Couldn't fault anything about the place. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Cornwall.
This is our third stay at this property and yet again it did not disappoint. Property was warm and clean on arrival.
Beautiful lodge, we were in the area seeing family and it was literally just up the road from them. It was a really convenient base for visiting the local attractions and went to a couple of Christmas markets, which were great and got us in the Christmas spirit. We loved that we could relax in the hot tub after a day out exploring. Cant wait to return. I would highly recommend this site.
Graham
An excellent property for 2 people. Everything you could want for was supplied. Excellent hosts as well. The location is great We had a lovely time visting the area and our family.
We had a lovely weekend here. Lodge was spotlessly clean and comfy. A very peaceful spot with Robins singing outside. We had everything that we needed. The only improvement to be made is the bed needs a proper double mattress not two singles put together, and the hot tub could have had a bit more power from the jets. Thank you
Kuljit
Lovely place, We will come again soon
Barbara
Perfect place for relaxing. Beautiful scenery. Quiet and peaceful. Accommodation absolutely lovely. Spacious and very well equipped. Cant fault it. Hot tub a bonus and very well maintained.
This was our second stay at this property. Unfortunately the bed is very squeaky and I feel the mattress has passed its best. Other than this it was a fantastic stay even though the weather was not always on our side.
Thomas
Fantastic property, great amenities.
Christine
We were very happy with our lodge and it provided us with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The site was peaceful, well maintained and convenient to visit places in Cornwall. We had just 1 negative removing the cover from the hot tub was not easy as it was so heavy.
After a 9hour drive it was gratifying to access our accommodation with so much ease, our woodland surroundings gave us mammals ie rabbits, foxes and squirrels and birds ie siskins, gold Finch's, woodpecker,s and many more. The next morning gave us a panoramic to the east and the rising sun, looking forward to our next visit.
This property was perfect for the four of us, better than any of us expected, a quiet and peaceful place for us all to enjoy one another's company after full days exploring the Cornish country side and busy towns. We could not have wished for anything more. You can use the above feedback but the rest of this is for the owners and you at Sykes only. Owners the second bedroom needs a shade on the velux window as the sun streams in the early hours making it very difficult to sleep. Sykes For the answer to the first question, if this is for you, we have only given you a six as this property was perfect and deserved a 10 but the next one, also booked through you left a lot to be desired.
We were happy with the accommodation, but the bed was extremely squeaky, I feel this would had been very noticeable before guest arrived as you only need to move the bed slightly to hear it, so cleaners would had heard this while making the bed. We did not sleeprest well due to this factor so was very disappointed. It ruined our stay.
Jacqueline
The property was perfect for us. It was clean, spacious and well equipped. The location made a perfect base for exploring the area and was quite and peaceful at night.
Evelyn
We were delighted with the property. There are lots of lodges on site, but Faraway Fields was laid out so well that you still had lots of privacy. It was a very quiet site and the staff were very helpful. We will definitely be back to stay again. Great and easy location too.
We really enjoyed our stay at Southern Halt, Sadly the break was to short ! And we would love to come again some time in the future. Thank you !!

Fantastic. We stayed in June, the price was fair, possibly a little overpriced but I feel all UK staycations are costly at the moment. Facilities were great, very private and to our taste not bothered by anybody and never heard a peep from the other lodges. Exactly what we wanted. Lovely little pub down the road with great food!
Hayley
This is a beautiful place to stay. The lodge was beautiful and clean and so was the hot tub.It had everything we needed. Its exactly how you see it online. We would love to come back and stay a bit longer next time as it wasn't long enough.
Got us in at short notice. This place is truly amazing super comfy and clean if you are looking to relax this is the place for you. Highly recommended
2nd time staying in the exact same cabin. Absolutely lovely and wish it had been all week. Was lovely to do nothing apart from cook some good food and relax. Would definitely book for a third time.
Denise
A beautifully positioned holiday home, with private vast decking surrounded by mature trees, shrubs and hedges additional lawned areas to one side west facing and rear This is the cleanest lodge weve used at Southern Halt in recent years. Presentation was good, relatively fresh throughout the linen was crisp and clean. Tip take your own bed pillow if youre fussy about type, and filling. NB There are three TVs signed in from various previous occupantslodge users Prime, Netflix, You Tube etc. Check parental guides The onsite street lighting very little of it and roads need attention pot hole type burrows are evident within the expanse of gravel roadways, do be careful of your alloys! There are new owners in place at Southern Halt and Stonerush Lakes nearby they are maintaining the Charteroak brand name, Ill watch with interest for improvements on both sites. In summary a very good visit 810. Thank you
Felt like we could just move in and stay. Everything completed to a really high spec.

Really good stay Maybe some more comfortable outdoor seating as apposed to just dining seats as no cushion pads for chairs Entrance gate not locked for first 3 days so anyone could enter site Twin bedroom desk lamp glass shade was broken on arrival quite dangerous for younger children as could have cut themselves on the remaining shade Really nice clean property and would stay again
Great 7 night break Lodge was as described. Hot tub was lovely.More than a 5 minute walk down a very narrow lane to the local pub though.
