Really lovely place, feels very cosy and modern. We enjoyed exploring the wildlife and visiting Southwold and Bury St Edmunds too.
Emma Carter
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. Katie and Kevin clearly put a lot of thought into making sure everything was perfect for us. The place was spotless and peaceful, with a secure area for our dog to play. The hot tub was the cherry on top, always at just the right temperature. Highly recommend!
Emily
A charming cottage with a gorgeous view! Definitely recommend.

We had a lovely time at Old Rectory Cottage, spending two peaceful weeks in such a spacious, beautifully designed place. Being on the grounds of the impressive Old Rectory itself, surrounded by Suffolk's lovely countryside, was just perfect. The owners, Mr & Mrs Gunn, were genuinely helpful and friendly. Definitely a spot we'd recommend for anyone looking to unwind in a charming setting. We'll be back!
James

We had a lovely stay at the Old Rectory this August. Katie and her family were so welcoming, making us feel right at home. The property shows real care and attention to detail. Perfect for our family of four plus the dog. Definitely planning to return soon!
Oliver
We've stayed at Burgate twice recently and honestly, it's become a bit of a headache trying to find similar places for future trips. The property is truly one of a kind, with fantastic facilities and a lovely setting, all at a fair price. Since we don't get many holidays a year, we love exploring new areas, but nothing compares to Old Rectory Cottage - it's just in a league of its own. We really wish we could take it with us everywhere! It's that special.

Banham Zoo - NR16 2HE

This award winning wildlife attraction has much to offer both families and couples looking for a fun and educational day out.  You can discover a whole wild world of animals with over 1000 different animals from around the world. You will probably want to try and spend the whole day here so you don's miss out on anything.  Highlights include the amazing animals presentation, the birds of prey display and the feeding talks, all of which take place at set times of the day.  This attraction is fantastic value for money and highly recommended.  Their latest event is the Snow Leopard Club Naming Auction and there has recently been a baby giraffe born at the zoo.
Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - IP28 6HX
about 11 Miles
This amazing owl sanctuary located in the Stowmarket area of Suffolk should be high on your list of places to visit in the area.  The attraction is also a registered charity and carries out important work in the care & rehabilitation of owls from the region.  The sanctuary also raises awareness of owl conservation throughout the UK.  Between April and the end of September there are two superb flying displays each day so you should try and make your visit coincide with one of these displays if you can.
Melsop Farm Park - NR20 3DT
about 16 Miles
We love this attraction in Scoulton, Norfolk with a great collection of animals.  Children and adults alike have the chance to get hands on with the animals in the special handling areas.  On rainy days there is always the indoor play area for the little ones and when it's time for a bite to eat the cafe on the farm is open all day selling drinks and snacks.  Hot food is available over lunch times.
Ickworth House, Park & Gardens - IP29 5QE
about 19 Miles
The National Trust Ickworth House, Park & Gardens is a Beautiful 1800 acre country estate with many attractions including a fantastic adventure playground for the children and a range of nature trails which the whole family will enjoy. The site also has a family friendly cycle route a gift shop and a small café
Dinosaur Adventure Park - NR9 5JW
about 25 Miles
This fun family day out has been well planned and we think is certainly worth a visit.  New for 2010 is the PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure.  Other fun activities include the Dinosaur Trail, Arachnophobia, the Raptor Races and the adventure play area.  The secret animal garden is also popular.  You can play a role in wildlife conservation and sponsor an animal if you wish.  At the moment if you sign up for their newsletter there is a chance to win a family ticket.
Africa Alive - NR33 7TF
about 27 Miles
Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
National Horse Racing Museum - CB8 8JL
about 28 Miles
This is a museum with a difference and a must see if you are into horse racing.  You can take guided tours around the museum or choose to wander round yourself admiring the exhibits.  New for 2010 is a Junior Fun Tour which is ideal for children.  Simply ask the gallery staff for a Fun Tour pack when you enter the museum and kids can answer questions and spot clues and tips on the way round.  One of the most popular recent exhibitions is the Thoroughbred: State of the Art exhibition in Gallery 5 on until 31st October.  Check out their websites for the latest exhibitions.
Bewilderwood - NR12 8JW
about 29 Miles
Bewilderwood is a fun day out for the whole family located in the Wroxham area of Norfolk.  This imaginative adventure park has won awards and we think kids especially will love the characters and the magical tree houses. You can even book your ticket online and beat the queues by visiting their website where you can also view video clips of the park. This place is also the setting for the book 'A Boggle at BeWILDerwood', by local children's author Tom Blofeld.  Parents are not left out either as you're encouraged to take part and play alongside your children.
