We've stayed at this cottage three times now and already planning to return tomorrow. The charming decor really makes it feel specialand the hot tub is such a treat-especially with the lovely bottle of Prosecco they left for us. We love it!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! It was super cosy and had everything we needed. The garden was perfect for our dog to run around safely, which was a big plus. We loved watching the horses and calves in the fields nearby-so peaceful. The location was great, close enough to amenities but still felt secluded in the countryside. Honestly, it far exceeded what we expectedand we’re already planning to come back soon. Definitely recommended!

We had a fantastic stay here, perfect for our son's first holiday! Everything was spot on, from the cosy setup to the clean travel cot and high chair. Sophie was really thoughtful, asking about the baby's gender so she could prepare the right bedding-such a nice touch. Our dog also enjoyed the safe outdoor space. It was exactly what we needed-relaxing and comfortable. Definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a chilled few days away without any fuss!
Matt
We recently enjoyed a few peaceful days at this lovely cottage. The secure garden was a real bonus for us and our Pointer, since he couldn’t escape, especially while we relaxed in the hot tub. The surrounding field was perfect for walksand the place itself was spotless, cosyand super dog-friendly. It had everything we needed, plus a thoughtful welcome pack. Loved the info on local walks and eateries-definitely planning to return, it’s a gem!

We’ve stayed at Field Barn Cottage a couple of times now and definitely want to come back. The place is super well-equippedand the location is perfect for exploring Richmond, Riponand Fountains Abbey - such a beautiful spot. The garden is totally secure for our two Border Terriers, which is a huge plus. And the hot-tub? Absolute bliss after a day out. It’s also close to Darlington’s shops and South Park. A top week, for sure!
Emma

The place is really nice and in a great spot, plus the secure field is a bonus. Only thing was no freezer in the fridge, which was a bit of a letdown.

Mark
We really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was lovely and secure, perfect for our dogs. The bathroom and bedroom were especially nice, with a good standard overall. The wood-burning hot tub was a fun bonus, though it did take some getting used to and planning. There are some great pubs nearby, making it a peaceful yet lively escape. Definitely recommend!
Emily
When we arrived, the high chair and travel cot weren’t waiting, but Sophie sorted it out super quickly-within 15 minutes, which was really impressive. The cottage itself is lovelyand the garden is perfect for relaxing. The main reason we chose this place was because we have a very reactive German shepherdand it’s so rare to find dog-friendly spots that are actually secure. This one was ideal for her-no worries about her climbing over walls or escaping. Everything inside was spot on too. We’d definitely come back!
Jamie Roberts
We really enjoyed our week here! The cottage was spotless and felt cosy. Our dogs loved having access to the enclosed field - they could run around freely without us worrying. Sopphie and Kieth were fantastic hosts, always ready to lend a hand if needed. All in all, it was a cracking little holiday and definitely somewhere we’d return to!

Sophie
We’ve had a fantastic week! Everything we needed was supplied, even dog beds and bowls, so we could've left half our stuff at home. The dogs had a blast running around in the field and saying hello to the horses, while we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. It’s far enough from the fuss and bustle, yet just a quick drive to lovely restaurants and beautiful views. We’d absolutely love to come back. Thank you for hosting us! Sophie and Alex with Sulley and Jude xxxx

This is a recommended day out for families with young children visiting the Bedale area of Yorkshire.  Visit the farm and receive a warm welcome as well as a guided tour.  You will have the chance to bottle feed the lambs, bath a pig and handle some of the smaller animals.  Kids will love the big sandpit and the outdoor play area. There is also a cafe and indoor play area for when the weather is not on your side.

Situated in the Ripon area of North Yorkshire this popular theme park makes a fantastic day out for the whole family.  The more daring will love the big and thrilling rides such as Raptor Attack, The Ultimate and Trauma Tower.  For the little ones there are some excellent attractions such as Flying Camels, Dodgems and a Magic Wheel.  Toddlers will like the Dragon Boats and the Lightwater Express amongst other things. There are over 40 rides and attractions in total and we think this is excellent value for money too.  If you book your tickets in advance online you can save even more money and beat the queues.
Fountains Abbey - HG4 3DY

This is an outstanding world heritage site located close to Ripon in the North Yorkshire area. Nature lovers will be in their element with an abundance of wide open spaces to explore and there are special guided tours for families.  Some of the highlights may include seeing wild deer and bats during your visit.  The grounds are fantastic to wander round but there is also an Elizabethan Mansion, Victorian Church, Georgian Water Garden and the finest example of Cistercian Abbey ruins in the country - Well worth a visit!
