Honeysuckle Lodge Reviews

The property was very clean but lacking in details of electrical equipment usage such as the smart TV. We had very hot weather and would have liked an umbrella for the patio and the hot tub was totally overlooked by other lodges.

Beautifull clean lodge second time in this lodge everything u need my fav was the hot tub and cosy front room will be back one negative was not a big problem but light in bedroom needs mending was differcult for make up even thro there is 2 loverly side lights great beds very comfy xxx
The property is fantastic, weve been coming for the last 2 years and have booked again. It is very comfy and homely and have everything you need. We especially love the size and space of the property, the comfort of the beds and all the home comforts especially the hot tub, we never want to leave when we stay. The only thing I did notice this time is the cover to the small bedroom light switch was lose but otherwise everything was perfect.
Sandra
Lovely lodge in quiet location. It's got everything you need for a great stay could do with one more shelf in oven as was tricky juggling when making our Xmas dinner for our girly xmas break. Hot tub amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Charlotte
Lovely 3 night at the logde evening thing we need. Good location very clean and tidy loved the hot tub on an evening after our long walks .
We had an absolutely wonderful stay, honeysuckle lodge was the perfect place to relax and unwind after spending the day exploring the lakes! Upon arrival the lodge was immaculately clean, we even had daily visits from the local ducks which was so cute! A short walk down to the lakeside, or up to the main reception area was ideal for those who can't walk far. The only thing I would suggest adding is a parasol of some kind over the hot tubdecking area. On the days it was extremely warm, there was no shade to go under and so a couple of us had to sit inside when it would have been nice to enjoy the outdoors. It wasn't a huge issue, but I just think it would be something to look into since there was a photograph on the listing that includes the parasol. Other than that it was a perfect stay and we would definitely be coming back!

Just returned from 4 days at Honeysuckle Lodge, White Cross Bay. The Lodge was super clean, extremely well equipped with everything you need. Comfortable beds and nice towels. The hot tub was great, super clean and a guy came every morning to check it was alright. We didn't use the indoor pool or the entertainment area, so can't comment on those. Nice picnic area with tables in the shade down by the lake, a couple of minutes walk. The only negatives for us is that there was no sun parasol to use, and as the temperatures were 24 and upwards, there was nowhere to sit outside in the shade, as all the decking was in the sun most of the day. Also, we felt the lodges were a bit on top of one another, although it wasn't a problem as we stayed midweek during term time, and it was fairly quiet. Definitely would recommend the Lodge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

From the first time we stayed there, was a few little things that need doing the bed in main bedroom needs a new mattress or mattress topper on. We had to replace the batteries in the heating.,apart from these little things its first class and would recommend this property to anyone.
Very clean, property was advertised well, site is beautiful
Lovely lodge. Felt homely and clean. Enjoyed our stay.

Such a nice lodge, would definitely stay again.
We have stayed at white cross bay for the last 7 years but in a lodge we have always booked and sadly at present is no longer is a holiday let. So I came across honeysuckle lodge which had good reviews. It was clean, cosy and warm. Couldnt fault the lodge itself. The only down fall was the hot tub wasnt secluded or private enough for us. Also it seemed to be a cut through at the back of the lodge for people, a digger and a car that parked there too which wasnt the lodges as that was empty throughout our stay. Another day a van parked at the side of the patio doors when we were having breakfast and 2 people got out to have a wander at the back and came back again. We just felt like we were in a golf fish bowl at times. Apart from that we had a nice stay.
Myself and my husband stayed here for 3 nights celebrating my birthday. The Lodge was like home from home, very comfy and clean. We had the most amazing 3 nights away and we hope to be back.
My friend and I had an amazing week at Honeysuckle Lodge. Would highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a quiet chilled break.

We stayed in Honeysuckle Lodge for 3 nights for my birthday weekend. The lodge itself was lovely very comfortable and felt homely. Overall it was very clean, however we used the oven on our first night and there were a couple of chips in there from a previous stay. We liked that there was a tv in each bedroom and one in the living room, however the one in the living room did not work. I reported this at the time of arrival but nobody got back to me for the duration of our stay regarding this. I was disappointed that the main tv did not work and that nobody got back in contact with me regarding this. The hot tub was a lovely addition and was well enjoyed, but not all of the jets seemed to be working. This did not affect the use of the hot tub however. The WiFi worked very well at the lodge and overall we would recommend staying here.

Everything was amazing but when we arrived all the windows where open and we had spiders everywhere. .for the next 48 hours I didnt sleep the first night
Gerald

Excellent stay everything was so clean and so perfect. First time in the Lake District with my wife would thoroughly recommend to anyone Only thing I can think to improve maybe would be providing some extra bedding such as sheets and pillows and maybe some shower gels etc Otherwise a fantastic stay
Jennifer
Absolutely beautiful lodge had a lovely stay. Spacious, clean and comfortable beds and furnishings. Fully equipped with everything needed. Hot Tub was a bonus too. 2 minutes from the lake and only 5 minutes from the facilities. Would highly recommend and most certainly stay again
A beautiful lodge, carefully looked after by the owners to ensure a modern and wellmaintained accommodation. The lodge is really close to the main building and the marina making it the perfect location within White Cross Bay.
Andrew
Beautiful well equipped lodge. Apart from pillows and quilt could be better quality in double room. Will definitely be booking again tho. Hot tub great.
Had a really good stay at honeysuckle lodge and have booked again. Lodge was nicely maintained and comfortable. Nice layout and well equipped. Outside space was nice and hot tub was well maintained and a nice addition.
Sharon
Lovely cottage, really comfy, everything was there for your holiday stay, well presented, and modern. Generally very clean, just some little things missed, ie bathroom fans and cooker hood fan very dirty, however this didnt spoil our stay and we would defiantly return.
Had an amazing time would highly recommend. The lodge was fantastic well equipped it had everything you need for a perfect holiday
Alison
Would suggest not rushing to buy hub pass to use site facilities. Expensive for use of small extremely busy pool, we were informed we could use the restaurant without a pass after we had bought it, but we didnt. Lovely quiet site, access to lake for paddle boarding etc. Slight issue with hot tub was quickly resolved having little experience we were worried about leaving it running so instructions would be useful and didnt stop use. Granddaughter prefers this holiday to Centre Parc so that is a recommendation in itself!!! Thank you owner for letting us share your lodge!
Philippa
Great stay at honeysuckle Lodge. Very comfy especially the beds!!! Lovely powerful showers and great hot tub
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, had a few issues with maintenance and the upkeep of the lodge. First impressions were not great when we saw the decking, needs a good clean down and paint. The flooring on the kitchen area was broken, a panel was snapped which my 6yearold actually caught her foot on causing it to bleed one morning when she forgot to put her crocs on like we stated they must do so due to this. The jets on the hot tub are mostly not working also, sticker pealing away which just doesnt look nice. Despite these issues, it is a lively Lodge and was cleaned inside very well for us arriving. We had a great time and love the park, its in a great location.
Hanadi
Everything was perfect cleaning, well equipped, location and the instructions for check in and out. We enjoyed our time The only issue that u may face if you have kids and you are planning to stay more than 3 days, there is no washing machine otherwise the cottage is well prepared for kids. Will definitely booked it again. Thank you
Siobhan
This was our 2nd time staying at honeysuckle lodge. We absolutely love it we do and will be booking back up. But, when we got there on Monday gone. First inspection of the hot tub wasn't the sight I wanted to see. It was filthy and had floating clumps of hair. It looked like the filter was broken and definitely open to the elements as the cover was off. We reported this to sykes and the lady I spoke too was amazing and said she would get it sorted ASAP. Later the next day the hot tub cleaning guys came. Said that the filter was due a change in 4 days so they just left it. This wasn't good enough. Next day the boss of hot tub guys came and seen. And couldn't believe it had been left in the state it was. Anyways 2 days after we got there it got sorted. The decking definitely needs a bit TLC too tbh. But still an amazing sun trap. The lodge itself inside is amazing as always. I said in my last review in Feb that the double bed needed new mattress and it has got an amazing, comfortable new mattress. The tiles in kitchen are coming up a bit now though so they need sorted. But, like I've said we absolutely love this lodge ans will be back.

Stayed here with my partner and 2 sons aged 1 and 5 this weekend. Lodge was lovely couldnt fault it at all. Definitely will be returning
Jennifer
On arrival the lodge was absolutely spotless. It has a well equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher. The beds were comfy and the lodge itself is nice and cosy. Weve stayed at White Cross Bay a few times now and this was one of the better lodge locations weve been to. Not all the jets were working in the hot tub we did mention it to the bloke who comes out to check on it, however we did still enjoyed it. We would definitely stay at Honeysuckle Lodge again.
Christopher
Lovely lodge. Booked this for our first family holiday with our 8 month old. Plenty of space in the lodge for all 3 of us and all his stuff. Hot tub was lovely in evening. Only minor issue was had to most of the blinds and curtains shut due to people looking in when walking past the lodge
Eleanor
Beautiful property. Really clean and tidy and felt like home as soon as we walked in. Only negative is the only wifi available is the parks one which wasnt the greatest so we werent able to use the tv apps ie Netflix Prime in the evening as connection wasnt strong enough. Not a massive deal of course but thought it was worth a mention.
Angela
This is a lovely lodge close to the lake. It was very clean and warm with everything you need for your stay.
A beautifully kept, very clean lodge with everything you could possibly need. The lodge was lovely and warm which was very much needed as it was freezing during our stay, we loved the hot tub which we used daily. The park itself is very well equipped and well kept. We will definitely visit this park again and hopefully stay at Honeysuckle lodge again.

Rydal Mount & Gardens - LA22 9LU
about 4 Miles
Rydal Mount & Gardens are wonderfully situated between Lake Windermere and Rydal Water offering breathtaking scenery. The home of William Wordsworth from 1813 - 1850 the grand home is now lived in by the poets descendents but parts of the house and grounds are open to the public. Why not take a guided tour and see the rooms where many of the famous poems were written. The gardens are beautiful at all times of the year but in the summer offer a spectacular display of colour. There is also a gallery and a tearoom. Discounts are available for group bookings.
Ullswater Steamers - CA11 0US
about 10 Miles
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years.  There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk.  For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families.  Corporate groups are also well catered for.
Lakeland Wildlife Oasis - LA6 1JH
about 15 Miles
Located in the Milnthorpe area of Cumbria we love this local attraction.  With an eclectic mix of fascinating wildlife and hands on displays this centre is educational as well as fun.  You can wander around at leisure admiring the exhibits which range from chameleons to computers. Some of the most threatened species are kept at the park as part if international breeding programmes.  Check out their website for the latest opening times and admission costs which are great value for money.  There are discounts for pre-booked parties of 12 or more.
South Lakes Safari Zoo - LA12 0LU
about 18 Miles

This is an amazing Cumbria attraction well known locally as well as nationally for how close you can get to the animals.  Described as the most interactive animal park in Europe it's well worth a visit if you are staying in the area.  Open from April to end October some of the highlights are the tigers, penguins, bears, hippos and rhinos.  At 2pm during certain seasons it's feeding time so don't forget to plan your day around this so you can watch the animals enjoying their feed.  Look out for seasonal events such as Halloween Zoo Boo (free entry for kids in fancy dress) and The Magic of Christmas.

Happy Mount Park - LA4 5AQ
about 22 Miles
Happy Mount Park has attractions for the whole family including several play areas, a miniature railway, crazy golf, putting green and trampolines, there is also a paddling pool where the little ones can splash around in the summer and a café where the adults can relax with a drink. During the summer months and especially during school holidays live music can often be enjoyed.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 23 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
