Sutton Scarsdale is located in Derbyshire’s lovely rolling countryside with lots of visitor attractions nearby. Explore Bess of Hardwick’s wonderful Hardwick Hall, storm the battlements of Bolsover’s magnificent castle or wander around Renishaw Hall’s superb gardens.

Grassmoor Country Park and The Five Pitts trail are great for walkers and cyclists. Barrow Hill Roundhouse offers lots of steam train nostalgia and there are adventures galore in Robin Hood’s Sherwood Forest.

A little further afield, but still within an hour’s drive are the magnificent Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, Castleton’s Blue John Caverns, cable cars up the Heights of Abraham, Carsington’s water sports, the Monsal and High Peak Trails, and the Derwent Valley Dams – famous as a ‘Dam Busters’ training ground.
